The Vanner 66-100 provides regulated 12V power from a 24V electrical system for commercial vehicles, marine systems, and alternative-energy applications. It helps prevent the battery imbalance that occurs when 12V loads are powered from only one battery in a 24V series bank. With automatic operation, greater than 96% efficiency, and a 100A output rating, it supports high-demand 12V loads while helping extend battery life.
KEY FEATURES
- Supplies 12V DC power from a 24V battery system
- Provides up to 100A of 12V output
- Automatically balances two series-connected 12V batteries
- Helps reduce battery overcharging and undercharging
- Greater than 96% efficiency
- Automatic operation with no user controls required
- Supports momentary surge loads through the lower battery
- Can be paralleled with compatible Vanner equalizers for greater output capacity
- UL Recognized
- Anodized aluminum enclosure
- Operating-status indicator light
- Electronically protected against reverse-polarity damage
- Non-user-serviceable construction

IDEAL FOR
- 24V vehicles requiring high-capacity 12V accessory power
- Systems using two equal-capacity 12V batteries or battery banks in series
- Applications where tapping one battery would cause charge imbalance
- Installations replacing dual-alternator or multiple-charger arrangements
- Systems requiring up to 100A of continuous 12V output
- Commercial and fleet equipment operating in demanding environments
PROTECTION FEATURES
- Electronic current limiting during overload conditions
- Electronic reverse-polarity protection
- Automatic output reduction as battery imbalance increases
- Automatic shutdown if either battery falls below approximately 8V
- Anodized enclosure helps protect against salt, fungus, dust, water, fuel vapors, and common vehicle fluids
- Indicator light assists with operating-status checks
SYSTEM COMPATIBILITY
- Designed for nominal 24V systems made from two 12V batteries or battery banks connected in series
- Battery A and Battery B should have the same amp-hour capacity
- Connects to +24V, +12V midpoint, and ground
- Compatible Vanner Family 1, Family 3, Family 4, and Family 5 equalizers may be operated in parallel
- Suitable for alternator-charged, generator-supported, and solar-charged 24V systems
- Both 12V batteries must be above 8V for the equalizer to turn on
CHECK BEFORE ORDERING
- Confirm the system is nominally 24V and has an accessible 12V midpoint.
- Confirm the required 12V load does not exceed 100A.
- Verify that both 12V batteries or battery banks have the same amp-hour capacity.
- Do not use the unit as a stand-alone 24V-to-12V converter without the required +24V, +12V, and ground battery connections.
- Install properly rated fault-protection devices between the equalizer and the batteries.
- The manual specifies a 125A fuse for F1 and an 80A fuse for F2 for the 66-100 model.
- Use 90°C-rated cable sized to keep voltage drop within the manual’s limits.
- Mount close to the batteries on a flat surface.
- Vertical mounting with terminals facing downward is recommended.
- Protect the unit from rain, high-pressure washing, battery acid, and battery fumes.
- Do not install in a zero-clearance compartment or in a compartment containing batteries or flammable materials.
- Do not connect more than one conductor to each terminal post.
- Do not exceed 120 in-lb of torque on the connection studs.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
- North American limited warranty
- Two years from the date of installation or two and one-half years from the date of manufacture, whichever is less
- Coverage is subject to proper installation, checkout, registration, and the conditions stated in the owner’s manual
